If you have decided that 2024 is to be the year when you make more friends and you hopefully meet that important someone then there is some hard work ahead of you right now. It is so important to be able to put your best foot forward when you meet someone for the first time and it isn’t just in a business context that you always need to look your best. It only takes a few seconds for the other person to create an opinion of what you are like and they will do this based on your appearance, how you behave and also how you dress.
It can be incredibly difficult changing someone’s first impression of you and so if you are meeting someone in a social capacity then that is the time to wear your new diamond earrings so that they know you have a touch of class and you might be someone worth getting to know better. This is just one tip to help you create the best first impression for any important social occasion in New Zealand and the following are some others.
- Always arrive on time – This just isn’t the rule that applies to job interviews and it is just as important when meeting someone socially for the first time. It is not good manners to turn up late because the person may have left already or you have made them incredibly uncomfortable having to sit there are by themselves waiting for you to arrive. This is certainly not the best first impression that you want to create and so make sure that you leave a lot of time to get there and be sure to book a taxi beforehand.
- Take time to look your best – Nobody is saying that you have to wear your best outfit and to get your hair professionally styled but you should try to make an impression and pay attention to your overall appearance. If you need to, accessorise your outfit by wearing some appropriate earrings. Do not try to be someone other than yourself because people will be able to see through this almost immediately and they will have no respect for you.
- Show them your winning smile – A smile goes a long way when meeting someone for the first time because it puts them at ease and it creates an excellent first impression. Obviously, don’t go overboard and be grinning like a Cheshire cat but do try to show that you are a confident individual and they might want to get to know you a little better. Be aware of your body language at all times and put your best foot forward.
If you follow these three tips there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to create the right first impression in a social capacity. This individual might be a friend for life if everything works out and he or she might be the person that you are looking for.
